success comes from clear vision

I’ve been working in some creative or marketing facet for the past 20 years. I’m not an expert on everything, but boy do i have opinions!

As President and Creative Director of my boutique design and marketing company over the past 16 years, I have developed an expertise in results-driven, digital and traditional marketing strategies, grounded in exceptional design concepts. On a day-to-day basis I lead, manage, and direct my team in strategy, copy and visual communication of advertising and collateral for B2B and B2C marketing and design efforts. I art direct photo shoots, collaborate with art directors and writers to develop innovative concepts and modern visual design that delivers business results. All the while I work to ensure a strong creative execution while simultaneously directing and operating an effective and efficient business.

Prior to Graphique Creative, I served as the Director of Marketing for CDI Corporation, a global engineering and staffing company. In addition to implementation of national advertising campaigns my work was also pivotal with regards to development of CDIs annual strategic plan. I was a freelance graphic designer for several years in both Baltimore and Phoenix markets prior to CDI.

While working as a freelancer, I also worked in special event and show production as a producer. Upon arriving in Arizona in 1995, I worked for Radio City Music Hall as the Cast Coordinator of Super Bowl XXX’s Halftime Show in Tempe, Arizona. I produced and directed several corporate shows across the US and Canada, including annual management events for Choice Hotels International (EconoLodge and Quality Inn) and the Native American TV and Movie Awards.

It was during this time that I became very interested in Native American culture. I co-wrote, cast and produced the play Tribe, a Native-American stage production that played at venues across the US.

From 2003-2005 I served on the Board of the American Marketing Association in Phoenix as Vice President of Marketing and Communications. During my tenure, I opened the doors to encompass all of marketing, rebranded the organization and launched the Spectrum Awards, which has become a staple, annual marketing event in Phoenix.

In addition to my day job, for the past nine years I’ve been a design and marketing professor at the Art Institute of Phoenix. I have taught several design, marketing and branding subjects over the years. Teaching the next generation of designers and marketers is something that has always excited me. It’s also a great way to find talent.

I received my Master of the Arts degree in Communications and Design Theory from the University of Baltimore, Yale Gordon College of Liberal Arts. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from the University of Maryland, College Park.

In my spare time, I enjoy my two boys and everything boys their age enjoy. I have coached soccer for the Scottsdale Soccer Recreation League and the Scottsdale JCC. I also surf whenever I get the opportunity. I’m not great, but I love doing it.
