In 2013, we initiated work for City of Scottsdale to develop a completely new traffic control center. The system they had been using was woefully out of date, and did not provide the level of functionality this growing metropolis desperately needed.
The system we designed, with our partners at Replicam, is touch-screen based and assists local emergency services by allowing them to tie into any camera system throughout the city using their official tablets and other mobile systems.
Traffic controllers use the system to modify traffic patterns in real time by controlling intersection lighting systems, amber alert signage and radio messages. Access to this web-based solution is restricted to the city’s traffic management team, but below are links to our wireframe design comps and user personas.
